THE PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES TEAM VISION STATEMENT:

The vision of the CCSEC Psychological Services Staff is to serve as  positive, collaborative, efficient, resourceful, members of the campus team regarding legalities of identifying (evaluation/identification process) and supporting students (IEP development, scientific research-based, peer reviewed instructional support) with Emotional Disturbance, OHI-Other Health Impairments (ADHD, ADD), Autism, Chronic Behavior Disorders, as well as assistance with the FBA process (Functional Behavior Analysis),  BIP process (Behavior Intervention Plan), 108 B process (requesting an observation and assistance for a student), RESULTS Intervention support and importantly supporting classroom teachers to foster student success.

 

What is School Psychology?

School Psychology is a field that applies principles of clinical psychology and educational psychology to the diagnosis and treatment of children's and adolescents' behavioral and learning problems.

School psychologists are educated in psychology, education,
child and adolescent development, child and adolescent psychopathology, learning theories, family and parenting practices,
and personality theories. They are knowledgeable about effective instruction and effective schools. They are trained to carry out psychological and psycho-educational assessment, psychotherapy,
and consultation, and in the ethical, legal and administrative codes
of their profession.
