The Collin County Special Education Cooperative has been dedicated to meeting the needs of special students in Collin County since 1973. Our highly trained professional staff serves the needs of students with disabilities ranging in age from 3 through 21 years, whose educational handicaps may be physical, mental, emotional, learning, and / or speech and language.We also provide services for students with serious visual or hearing handicaps ranging in age from birth to 22 years. Our experience in dealing with a wide range of disabilities has benefited children of all ages and abilities:

Orthopedic Impairment Hearing Impaired/Deaf Learning Disabled
Autistic Visually Impaired/Blind Mental Retardation

In order to help our students achieve their highest potential, an individualized education plan is developed for every student receiving services through the Special Education Department. This plan is developed after a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, including the parents, has reviewed all the needs of the child.
The plan sets short term goals, long term goals, and determines instructional and related services, which will best facilitate the child’s progress in the least restrictive environment.
Placement needs are met through a full continuum of services for students, aged 3-21 years of age, with educational handicaps.Our multi-disciplinary staff provides comprehensive assessments and
services to children with many special needs.This group of dedicated and caring professionals work together in a collaborative and supportive environment to make a positive impact in the lives of children with very special and individualized needs. Whether it’s a speech therapist providing remediation to a language impaired student or an Occupational Therapist helping a physically challenged student, each member of our team is thoroughly trained, mentored and certified in his/her profession.
